We have known Jim and Isobel from Bruise for a few years now. They are, without doubt breath taking to watch and listen to live and definitely one of our most favourite bands on the entire planet. We are huge huge fans of their song writing and stage craft and would encourage anyone who is a fan of music to see them.
To celebrate the release of Bruise’s fantastic EP, I Am A Dancer, (which we recommend all of you go out and buy when it’s out) we have been invited to support them at the beautifully bijou St. Pancras Old Church.
We’re lucky enough to have performed on the same bill as Bruise on various stages including a spiegeltent on Blackheath, as part of the Olympics 2012 party. That night suddenly took a turn for the dramatic when (allegedly) Pepper blew the entire tent’s electrics with his vigorous uke skills. Fortunately he, and we, recovered to play the rest of our set in complete darkness (some say for the better), before Jack Harris and Bruise blew the audience away by candlelight. We have never quite understood how the promoter ‘miraculously came upon’ candles immediately after we’d finished our set, but he assured us it was mere coincidence.
This will be a gem of a show and not one to be missed.
